As a vegan, zero-waste, full-time traveler, I'm always on the lookout for great vegan products around the world, and my favorites are solid products.
Solid and naked toiletries make travel easier because they're zero-waste, there's no plastic or packaging, and no liquids whatsoever - so you can breeze through airport security!
I like Lush because not only do they make fresh vegan products I can find all around the world - they also fight animal testing by not testing on animals and by only purchasing ingredients from companies that do not test on animals.
So here are some of my favorite products that are currently in my bag.
Facial soap bar
The solid I prefer to carry with me at all times is a facial soap bar.
Hotels and Airbnbs alike hardly ever leave facial soap, despite nearly everyone having a face.
Handsoaps will strip your oils and shampoos will add too many - so it's helpful to have a good face soap so you're not wandering around with a red, irritated, or dry face and causing locals to wonder what's wrong with you.
I love Fresh Farmacy because it's made with tea tree, calamine, and chamomile, so it's cleansing, balancing, and soothing all at the same time.
Facial oil bar
The second most important solid to bring along is a facial oil bar.
Whether you need a facial moisturizer, a quick glow up, lip balm, hand lotion, or foot lotion, this little luxurious butter bar can really save the day - especially in cold, windy, or dry climates when it feels like all the moisture is being sucked right out of you.
I like Argan because it's made with argan oil, vitamin E, and shea butter, so it instantly calms and soothes upset skin.
Shampoo bar
A shampoo bar is always a handy one to have because it's a perfect all-in-one.
Most accommodations will provide shampoo, but often the bottle is too little, sometimes it is flat out empty, and every now and then they just forget it entirely.
If you arrive somewhere in the middle of the night after a long day of travel and you just want to take a shower and you open the door to a completly bare bathroom, then you will definitely wish you had brought a life-saving shampoo bar with you so you can feel like a person again.
Shampoo bars can be shampoo, shaving cream, body wash, handsoap, and even laundry soap when in a pinch - so they're the perfect travel companion to bring along without taking up lots of space or weight in your bag.
Pictured here is my beloved little bar of Seanik which lasts seemingly forever and suds up super clean with aromas of lemon oil, sea salt, and seaweed.
Solid perfume
Last on the list is a solid perfume - a tiny jar that packs a big punch.
Some folks may think this isn't exactly a necessity, but I recommend thinking otherwise because it's extremely helpful for two very important reasons.
One - if you're facing a long travel day, or night, or both - and you want to arrive smelling like a decent human being instead of stinking like an entire plane, train, bus, or all three combined.
And, Two - Dirty is made with spearamint oil, thyme, and lavender, which all repel mosquitos (a vital precaution in many parts of the world) - so this one is an excellent double duty fresh scent and bug repellent all in one little magic pot!
